The ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND is best known for, but is certainly not limited to, the rich and majestic music of the beloved John Denver, having performed to date  thirteen John Denver  tribute concerts for various benefit and fund-raising events.

Dave Reinwald’s ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND was honored to receive the invitation from PENN’S PEAK, high in the Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, Jim Thorpe, PA,  to open The Lehighton 9/12 Project’s presentation of  “13 Hours in Benghazi”, featuring Benghazi survivor, former US Army Ranger, CIA operative, and private security contractor Kris “Tonto” Paronto, on Sunday evening, November 6, 2016.

Just prior to the 2010 Independence Day Holiday, The ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND performed a ‘rousing “God Bless the U.S.A.”  concert at Kissinger’s Lutheran Church, Wyomissing, PA, featuring  music from Garth Brooks, Josh Turner, Lee Greenwood, Elvis Presley and Josh Groban – and a couple of tunes from the John Denver songbook, too !   Then they wrapped up the evening with several patriotic and inspirational numbers.

Then, in August of 2011, it was The ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND  at beautiful Kaercher Creek Park for the Summer Concert Series of the Berks County Parks & Recreation Department.

WHAT’S  COMING UP ?

 

Sunday, November 10, 2019, 4pThe Rocky Mountain Band  will present a full concert of the regal music of the beloved John Denver, for the benefit of (TO BE DETERMINED) at Kissinger’s Church (www.kissingerschurch.org), 715 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing PA.  The general public is invited and will be most welcome.  There will be no admission charge, and a free-will offering will be received for the benefit of (TBD)  Food and beverages will be available, with all proceeds going to (TBD).

There will forever remain an empty spot in the Band and in our hearts as we remember the passing of The ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND’s  drummer-percussionist extraordinaire,  Randy Angelo, 59, on  Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA, following a valiant struggle thru his lengthy illness.   A memorial service for Randy was held Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Community Mennonite Church, 328 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA.

A roaring success!   The classic sounds of the music of the beloved John Denver rang from the rafters of Kissinger’s Church (www.kissingerschurch.org), 715 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing PA, as The Rocky Mountain Band  performed a slate of John Denver Classics for the benefit of C.A.S.A. / Court-appointed Special Advocates for Children (www.casaforchildren.org), Sunday, April 30, 2017.

 

An honor and a privilege it was as The NEW EARTH BAND’s Lee Schappell appeared with The ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND as they presented a program of classic American country, inspirational and patriotic music at Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe, PA, prior to The Lehighton 9/12 Project’s presentation of  “13 Hours In Benghazi”, featuring Benghazi survivor, former US Army Ranger, CIA operative, and private security contractor Kris Paronto, on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Our thanks to the approximately 150 attendees of the final concert of the 16-day 2014 Reading-Berks Conferences of Churches Music Fest, held, Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Kissinger’s Lutheran Church (www.kissingerslc.org), 715 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing PA.  The Rocky Mountain Band presented an evening of the music of the beloved John Denver, for the benefit of Laney’s Legacy of Hope (www.laneyslegacyofhope.org) and the RBCC. 

 

What a show!  What can certainly be termed the Rocky Mountain Band ‘s best performance in eight years of benefits and fund-raisers took place Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Kissinger’s Lutheran Church (www.kissingerslc.org), 715 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing PA, ironically, for the benefit of the Band’s percussionist, Randy Angelo, who passed away in December of 2012, following a tedious liver transplant and valiant subsequent battle.  The event opened with a lively, Bluegrass-lover’s set, courtesy of the flying fingers of Adamstown’s phenominal, 13-year-old banjo-master, Conlan Kerschner, after which Conlan joined the The Rocky Mountain Band  for the first set.   As we’ve said, “Wow!  What a show!”

 

Thanks to the Reading-Berks Conference of Churches for leading off their first annual “Joyful Weekend of Heavenly Music” with Dave Reinwald’s Rocky Mountain Band and The RMB’s lively package of contemporary and country Gospel music, Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Crowne Plaza www.crowneplaza.com/Reading , Wyomissing, PA.

A stand-up Patriotic  Salute goes out to Kissinger’s Lutheran Church (www.kissingerslc1.org), 715 Berkshire Boulevard, Wyomissing PA, for hosting The Rocky Mountain Band’s  Sunday, June 27, 2010  “God Bless the U.S.A.” concert.  The proceeds were committed to benefit the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

 

A massive and well-deserved ”Thank-You” from the members of the nine-piece ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAND  to the Reading and Berks Community, and to the entire congregation and staff of Kissinger’s Evangelical Lutheran Church,  715 Berkshire Boulevard, in Wyomissing, PA (www.kissingerslc1.org), for their reception and response that exceeded all expectations at this charity event, “The Benefit For Haiti -The Music of John Denver Concert” on Sunday, March 7, 2010.  God bless you all for your support!
