WARREN  L. ”Mose” BOYER   (10/11/1927  -  09/13/2011)

With much sadness we announce  the passing of   NEW EARTH BAND  fiddler and bassist Warren “Mose” Boyer on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.  A most earnest, courteous, respectful, gentle man, and a true master musician, “The Moser” was one-of-a-kind,  irreplaceable indeed.  He will be missed by fellow Band members, as well as by the countless numbers of followers who loved “Mose” throughout his astounding, seven-decade musical legacy. 

Services were held Monday, September 19, 2011 at St. John’s (Hain’s) UCC, Wernersville, PA.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and many friends of  Marilyn “June” Ravel, loyal supporter of The NEW EARTH BAND, who passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 21, 2011.  June loved her  St. Lawrence Women’s Club, of which she was a past president and loyal member.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 1:50p -  The Young-at-Heart Club  of St. Luke’s Evangelical Congregational Church (www.stlukesshillington.com) , 315, W. Broad St., Shillington, PA, has invited the greybeards of The NEW EARTH BAND  to supply an afternoon of hopping-good-time, rural Gospel music for this afternoon’s gathering.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 6:30p - It’ll be a replay of The Grand Ole Opry at the beautiful Hearthstone at Maidencreek (www.hearthstonehealthgroup.com) , 105 Dries Road, Reading PA , as  The NEW EARTH BAND, cleverly disguised as the notorious Little Buford and The Hicks,  brings to the Hearthstone residents a delightful mix of throwback Classic Country and Old-Time Rural Gospel.

Friday, June 22, 2012, 2p - The invitation has gone out and been accepted byThe NEW EARTH BAND  to  return to Keystone Villa at Douglassville, 1152 Ben Franklin Highway East, in Douglassville PA (www.keystonevillaatdouglassville.com), for a hopping-good-Country Gospel Matinee for the residents and staff, and particularly for their special guest, former country singer Paul Faranda,  long-time associate of local music icon Shorty Long, songwriter Johnny Speca, and producer Pat Ferrara.

Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of a solid friend and music icon, “Mr. Entertainment”, Craig Wes Fisher.  Known and loved by all, Craig leaves a hole that will not be filled until we are reunited with him at that great open-jam that will assuredly  follow dessert at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb!

What a great time we had at  The Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, 2499 Zerbe Road, Narvon, PA (www.zerbesisters.com) on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, as The NEW EARTH BAND  presented a bouncing-good matinee of hoppin’-good  Country Gospel music for the Zerbe  residents and staff!   Our sincere thanks to Activities Director Sandra Breneman  and her first-class crew !

DUE TO A QUARANTINE CONDITION on Friday, January 13, 2012,  The NEW EARTH BAND ’s  mid-winter matinee concert at Wyomissing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (www.wyomissingnursing.com), 1000 East Wyomissing Boulevard, Reading PA, was postponed.   We’re hoping to reschedule the event and will post details when we’ve succeeded.

 New Year’s Eve will never be the same!  Saturday, December 31, 2011 began quite normally – that was until the door blew open and in shuffled the Dave Reinwald Live!  gang, consisting of singer-songwriter Dave Reinwald, his lovely wife, Jackie, and that old, gray geezer again, bassist Lee Schappell.   Following dinner, it was the Dave Reinwald Live!  show at The Sencit Townhouse, 20 South Summit Avenue, Shillington PA, with Oldies galore, Doo-Wop, and a touch of Gospel, till well into the New Year!

A hearty “Saaaa-lute!” to  Activities Director Bonnie Payne, her staff, and residents of  ManorCare (www.hcr-manorcare.com), 3000 Windmill Road, Sinking Spring PA,  for a great time, and for their lively sing-along response as  The NEW EARTH BAND  returned Thursday, December 22, 2011 for a Country Gospel and Rural Christmas mix!

A rousing Thank-you from The NEW EARTH BAND  to the members of the Blandon Senior Citizens  for their welcome invitation to provide a mix 0f Country Gospel and Christmas Music following their Wednesday, December 14, 2011 Christmas Dinner and Meeting, at the Fleetwood Grange Hall, Fleetwood PA.

The rafters were ringing, Saturday evening, December 10, 2011,  at Kissinger’s Lutheran Church (www.kissingerslc.org), 715 Berkshire Boulevard, Wyomissing PA PA, as The NEW EARTH BAND  delivered a truckload of  hopping-good Country Gospel and Christmas music mix.  They were joined up front by Dave Reinwald, for the concluding, energy-packed, five-song set, which featured strong renditions of Gospel standards “Long Black Train” and “The Unclouded Day”.

Thanks to Rick Knerr and his friendly staff of the Manor at Market Square (www.manoratms.com), 803 Penn Street, Reading, PA,  a warm “Thank-You” for the opportunity to conduct the morning worship service and provide some easy Country Gospel music, with lots of singing and genuine response to the message, “He Will Come For Me”, on December 10, 2011. 

A most lively evening  we had at Providence House, 800 Court Street, in downtown Reading PA  (www.providence-house.com),  Thursday, December 8, 2011, with an evening of “Oldies But Goodies”, a dash of “DooWop”, and a generous topping of good-old Gospel delivered by Dave Reinwald Live!, accompanied by The NEW EARTH BAND’s  Lee Schappell on bass.

A most warm-and-fuzzy “Thank-you” to the lovely ladies of the  St. Lawrence Women’s Club  for their kindness and genuine Holiday-style response as Dave Reinwald Live! and The NEW EARTH BAND’s  Little Buford delivered  a lively evening of  Gospel and Christmas Music at the Reading Country Club, off Route 422, in Exeter Township  (http://www.exetertownship.com/rcc/Pages/Home.aspx), Friday, December 2, 2011.
